Reconciliation and Extermination – 09/06/20

Where does your help come from?  For what do you need help?  What do you turn to when you feel helpless?  Israel is defeated at Ai because of faithlessness.  They are victorious at Ai, as at Jericho, not because of personal power but because of faithfulness and God’s mighty hand.  Read Joshua chapters 8-10.  Pillars were erected as visual sign of commitment to the covenant that was read identifying God’s desire to bless and why he might curses.

Committing one’s life to the covenant brought blessing and was the antidote to the potential affliction of the curses due to rebellion.  What areas of your life need dismantling so the blessed reign of Christ can satisfy your deepest desires and reflect His greatest characteristic?    Supplemental Readings: Psalm 121, 2 Cor 10:1-6
