Sunday morning Bible class is currently studying in Acts. Wednesday evening Bible class is in the minor prophets.
Preparations for the Southside 2024 Budget are underway. If you have a ministry that requires funding, have been asked for budget input, or if you have budget suggestions, please provide your budget requests to Brad Stanger today by email at (blabes@juno.com).
A rough-draft directory has been posted for corrections in the hallway near Patrick’s office. We are hoping to start the printing process soon.
A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m.
Special Events
A youth bonfire is being planned for today.
Our annual Trunk or Treat is planned for Saturday October 14, 11 am to 1 pm.
Karen Hamilton is planning to sponsor an Ice Cream Social October 15 after worship with homemade ice cream and peanut butter cookies. If you would like to bring something, ice cream cones or other types of cookies would be welcome.
A movie night is planned for Friday October 20, 5:30 pm.
Southside is planning a Men’s Sheepshead and Game Night on Friday, October 27, 2023, in the church fellowship hall, beginning at 6pm. Come to play Sheepshead or bring your favorite game. Please bring your favorite snack or beverage to share. Contact Brad Stanger or Wayne Alexander with any questions.
A joint worship with the Spanish speaking group is being planned for Sunday October 29. Bilingual song practice is being planned at the building for Wednesdays prior to Bible Study (6-6:45 pm) October 11 and 18. Also Thursdays following Ladie’s Bible Class (11-11:30 am) October 12, and 18, and finally Sundays after worship (12-1 pm) October 22.
Please join Club 55 for a Harvest of Fellowship lunch on Saturday, November 4, 11:30 -2:00. To encourage more interaction with our brothers and sisters please consider inviting a guest from a sister congregation. Please bring soup, salad and/or dessert to share, as well as a drink of your choice for you and your guest(s). Sign up on the Club 55 bulletin board by Wednesday November 1.
Hampton Ave. is planning a Men’s Retreat between October and December. For more information, contact Brother Driver (803-960-6715) or Brother Stevens (414-699-5842) if you would like to attend.
Fireside matinee outing to Scrooge the Musical is being planned for Saturday, December 9, 2023, arrive 10:30 am. If you would like to join us, details and a signup sheet are posted in the hallway next to the coat room. A facilitator is needed to organize this. Contact Sandie Copass if you are interested.
Opportunities
Barb Dawson has requested some meals to help her through her recovery. The York College chorus is hoping to visit Thursday January 4 and will be needing food and overnight housing. If you can help, please let Kevin Morrill know.
Club 55 needs volunteers to coordinate activities in December. Please see Billie Barnes or Scot Cerka if you would like to help.
Regular Events
The Thursday Morning Ladies’ Bible Class is studying each week at 10 am using a book by Angie Smith titled “Seamless” (Understanding the Bible as a complete story). Please see Peggy Koch or Allison Morrill for details. A Zoom meeting is also planned.
“Color More Worry Less” is planned Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Please see Christine Saunders for details.
Mid-week study at the building, Wednesday, 7 pm. A Zoom virtual meeting is also set up.

There’s a special group of people here at Southside that are ages 55 and older, called Club 55. They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond.
