Sunday Hand Out Information 11-26-23

Happy Thanksgiving weekend.

Sunday morning Bible class is currently studying in Acts.  Wednesday evening Bible class is in the minor prophets.

If you are ill or have had recent contact with someone who is ill, please stay home.  There is no evening worship at this time.

Please pick up a communion pack when coming into the auditorium if you will be joining with the Lord’s Supper.

A number of new directories are available.  See the table near the parking lot entrances or Cliff Copass.

Next week, we are planning to collect nonperishable food items for the First Sunday First Fruits program.  Please see Danny Giombi for details.

A new Sunday morning adult class is planned, on “Back to the Basics“.  It will be beneficial to everyone from the newest Christian to the fully seasoned Christian.  Please plan to attend.

Fireside matinee outing to Scrooge the Musical is being planned for Saturday, December 9, 2023, arrive 10:30 am.  Contact Sandie Copass.

Staci Geenen and Dean Sellenheim have invited Southside to join them as they are married, planned for December 16, 2023 at 11:00 am at the building.

Children’s Christmas Crafts Party is being planned for Sunday December 17 from 11:30 to 4 in the fellowship room.  Lunch is to be provided for children.  Age 3 and up (maybe lower).  A sign up at the youth bulletin board is for children and adults helping with crafts or food.  Please sign up by Sunday December 9.  See Margaret Franzen for details.

Opportunities

Justin Youngblood needs a little help with his perishable groceries.  If you would like to help, please call him at 262-278-1957.

Margaret Franzen is in need of empty plastic quart mayonnaise jars for a children’s craft, before December 17.

Club 55 needs volunteers to coordinate activities in December.  Please see Billie Barnes or Scot Cerka if you would like to help.

The York College chorus is hoping to visit Thursday January 4 and will be needing food and overnight housing.  If you can help, please let Kevin Morrill know.

The next Red Cross Blood Drive at Southside is planned for Friday December 29 2023, noon to 5.  Make an appointment at redcrossblood.org or call 800-733-2767.

Regular Events

The Thursday Morning Ladies’ Bible Class is studying each week at 10 am.  Please see Peggy Koch or Allison Morrill for details.  A Zoom meeting is also planned.

Color More Worry Less” is planned Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  Please see Christine Saunders for details.

Mid-week study at the building, Wednesday, 7 pm.  A Zoom virtual meeting is also set up.

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m., and after morning worship on the first Sunday of each month.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is planned for the first Tuesday of each month (Sept.-June), 6:30 pm, at the building with food.  Dan Giombi has details.

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:30 a.m. October through May.

There’s a special group of people here at Southside that are ages 55 and older, called Club 55.  They hold fellowship events, things for other age groups, and service projects that reach out to Milwaukee and beyond.  See the Club 55 bulletin board for more information, or contact Scot Cerka at (630) 631-4618 for more information.

Reminders

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.
