Please pick up a communion pack when coming into the auditorium if you will be joining with the Lord’s Supper.

Sunday morning Bible class is currently studying Proverbs.  Wednesday evening Bible class is looking at parables.  A 6:00 PM Sunday evening Communion and Devotional Service can be requested by Wednesday if needed.

Today is First Sunday First Fruits.  Tables are set up in room 4 for food items.

Any song copies made should be reported to Cliff Copass.

Helpers and trunks are needed for the Trunk or Treat Saturday October 12 from 3 to 5 pm.  See Kevin if you are interested.

The Waukesha Ladies are planning a Retreat at the Sheridan Brookfield for October 12, 9 am – 4:30 pm.  The Women’s Ministry Bulletin Board has details.  RSVP is required.

Special Events

Southside is planning a Men’s Sheepshead and Game Night on Friday, October 25, 2024, in the church fellowship hall, beginning at 6pm.  Come to play Sheepshead or bring your favorite game.  If possible, bring a favorite snack or beverage to share.  Contact Brad Stanger or Wayne Alexander with any questions.

A Family Bible Day is being planned during class and worship time on Sunday, November 10. The “Southside Players” will perform a skit on the story of Jonah during class at 9:00 am and Rex will present the application in his lesson during the worship service. Afterward, a hot dog and sloppy joe lunch will be served to everyone complete with an ice cream parlor. This is for the whole family – kids and adults. Please invite neighbors, friends, and family. The annual Fireside Dinner Theatre outing is planned for Saturday December 7, arrive by 10:30 AM in Fort Atkinson.  Cost is $78.95 plus tip per person to see Miracle on 34th Street.  See the Miscellaneous bulletin board for sign up and food choices.

Regular Events

The Thursday Morning Ladies’ Bible Class is studying I Peter each week at 10 am.  Please see Peggy Koch or Allison Morrill for details.  A Zoom meeting is also planned.

Color More Worry Less” is planned Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.  Please see Christine Saunders for details.

Mid-week study at the building, Wednesday, 7 pm.  A Zoom virtual meeting is also set up.

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m., and after morning worship on the first Sunday of each month.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is planned for the first Tuesday of each month (Sept.-June), 6:30 pm, at the building with food.  Dan Giombi has details.

Opportunities

Toni Bully is asking for donations of Christmas garland to be used to make wreaths.  If you would like to help, please bring it to the building and put it in the office with her name.

Allison Morrill is needing helpers for children’s worship.

The next Red Cross Blood Drive at Southside is planned for Friday October 18, 2024 from noon to 5.  Make an appointment at redcrossblood.org or call 800-733-2767.  Please see Latanja Mudd or Wayne Alexander for details.

If you have printer cartridges to recycle, a box has been placed where you can put them and support Schultz Lewis Child and Family Services at the same time.  Funds are also being raised from “Box Top$ for Education” products when purchased and you scan your receipt with your smart phone using the Box Tops mobile app.

Reminders

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

If you know someone who is getting married or having a baby, please let Sarah Borges, Lisa Bane (English/Spanish), or Rosio Gamino (English/Spanish) know.  Southside arranges a gift for first-time couples who are members of the Church and for the first child of members of the Church.
