YOUTH GROUP
We believe in the importance of developing friendships within our church community, to serve our youth during this formative period of their walk. The youth program at Southside, directed by our Family Minister, includes youth grades 6 to 12.
Youth Classes
Classes are offered for Middle School and High School age youth every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. with scriptural-based, age-appropriate lessons that focus on deepening relationships with God. Class sizes are small and led by dedicated, trained volunteers.
- 5th – 6th grade
- 7th – 8th grade
- 9th – 12th grade
Activities
Our youth have varied activities throughout the year, with summer being especially active.
Youth Rally
Southside sometimes hosts a Youth Rally in February. The rally has a theme & a guest speaker. Youth from throughout the state come to enjoy learning, singing, fellowship and fun activities.
Our youth also attend other rallies in the area or travel to other states. This varies each year.
Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp
Many of our youth attend a 2 week summer session at WCYC each summer. WCYC provides summer fun, faith-building and often leads to lifelong Christian friendships. Through camp, some youth even discover a love of volunteering and become Assistant Counselors at WCYC. Learn more. Or visit WCYC Website.
Senior Thanksgiving Dinner
This wonderful fellowship event, held before Thanksgiving, was established to serve and honor the senior members of our congregation. Youth and parents work together to prepare a traditional holiday meal and festive atmosphere. Youth serve, dine and visit with our seniors. Light entertainment is provided by the youth. This is a valuable social opportunity to connect the generations and create relationships. Many have been blessed by it.
