Exodus 36:1-7
For many, sermons about giving are not the most exciting messages. In fact, the media has frequently depicted true stories of pastors/church leaders misusing church funds. In Exodus 36:1-7, a wonderful problem happens: people give so much to God’s work, they have to be restrained. According to the passage, God commands something to be done (the building of the tabernacle), gives ability and resources to complete the work, and the people respond generously by using their resources to advance God’s glory. When reflecting on the gifts and resources God has given us, how active and willing are we in promoting the kingdom agenda?
