A Young Example – February 20, 2022

1 Tim 4:11-12

As a young person with temporary charge of the Ephesian church(es), Timothy has huge responsibility. He is called to “command,” “teach,” and preach, among other things. Not only his teaching, but his life must be exemplary. God calls all people, no matter their age, to godliness. When it comes to modeling the faith, what kind of example are we setting for our believing and non-believing coworkers, friends, neighbors, children, etc.? Consider 1 Tim. 4:16: “Take heed to yourself and to your teaching; hold to that, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.” Perhaps you’ll recall the different tenses of salvation (I’ve been saved; I’m being saved; I will be saved.) Teaching plays an important role in our time together on Sunday mornings, and when faithfully done, should paint a beautiful picture of God that instills a renewed sense of awe for his Grace. Looking forward to celebrating Him with you in our worship time.
