This week

Today is First Sunday First Fruits.  Tables are set up in room 9.

A men’s study series is planned for the first Tuesday of each month at the building at 6:30 p.m. for a meal preceding the study. Tuesday is the next scheduled meeting time.

New adult classes starting today are Characters of the Bible and Hebrews.
Have you struggled: with your faith, with your commitment, with good things happening to bad people, with why are bad things happening to good people, with why you are trying so hard if it seems to gets you nowhere, with God’s acceptance or God’s rejection, because you struggle?  Are you afraid of death?  Have you wondered how you will make it through?  All these questions will be addressed in the bible class on the book of Hebrews meeting in the fellowship hall starting today.
The Characters of the Bible class which will meet in the basement will explore how God used ordinary people in the bible to accomplish extraordinary things demonstrating to us that God can and does use even us to make a difference.

We have an attended nursery for small children at both morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshipping.

A children’s worship is scheduled to begin at the start of the first worship lesson time.  Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 5 and to encourage families with children.

Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

The Library is open immediately after each worship period.  Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library.  There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

Library Book Review

“The Case for Christmas.” You never know who may start asking life-changing questions this Christmas.  Here’s a great way to share the gospel—and the true reason for the season!  The Case for Christ author and journalist Lee Strobel investigates the facts behind Luke 2:8–18 and asks: Was it all a hoax—or truly the pivotal event of human history?  Find it in the Jesus Christ section of our library.

Calling All Overdue Library Materials

In order to keep a good supply of books, DVD’s, etc. available in our library for your use, we are starting a new system for following up on overdue materials in a timely manner.  Email notices and written notices will be used.  If you have library materials that are past due, please return or renew them or speak to us to resolve the matter.  We hope to replace materials that are lost.  Thank you for using the Southside library!
