People often view life as duality, its “either / or”. Some dualities exist such as light and darkness, love God and hate evil. Life is often experienced on a continuum between two extremes such as self-abasement and arrogant pride. In the middle of these two extremes is humility. The humble person accurately accepts their place and their purpose while also offering the ability to be properly proud of our uniqueness as a person and our standing as a child of the all-powerful creator who we get to call Father.
