Club 55 is planning a walking tour of Historic Downtown Milwaukee from inside the skywalk on May 6. This is wheel chair accessible. All are invited. Car-pooling from the building is planned for 12:15 sharp. Please sign up on the Club 55 bulletin board today if you plan to attend.
A Children’s Ministry meeting is scheduled May 7 after morning worship. A light potluck meal is planned before the meeting.
The annual Mother and Daughter Banquet is planned for Friday May 12, 6:00 p.m. with the theme “Once Upon an Apron”. Please sign up if you plan to attend since the food is being catered and an exact number is required. All women are invited. Even if you aren’t a mother, you are someone’s daughter. Payment is to Southside Church ($12 women, $6 age 6 to 12, free under 6).
The annual Southside Picnic is planned for Sunday June 4 at area 2 along the Root River Parkway.
Sandie Copass is organizing a group outing to the Fireside Theatre for December 9. Cost is $67.95 per person and includes dinner. A sign-up sheet is to be posted outside the coat room for those who wish to attend. After signing up, please see Sandie to make your down payment.
The monthly womens’ study and fellowship meets next Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the building. The current course is titled “Before Amen” by Max Lucado to help us with our prayer life.
The weekly Ladies’ Bible Class meets on Thursdays at the building starting at 10:00 a.m. looking at the book of Nehemiah.
A 6:00 a.m. Tuesday early morning Weekly Men’s Study is scheduled at the Church building.
The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:00 a.m.
The children’s ministry is in need of teachers, assistants and subs. A strong and well supported Children’s ministry is vital to the health of any church, so please consider helping. No previous experience is necessary. If interested, talk to Kevin Morrill or Ken Koch. The “Hands on Bible” curriculum has been working well.
We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2. We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.
A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time. Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 3 and to encourage families with children. Everyone is asked to begin worship in the auditorium (adults and children). Parents should accompany their smaller children to the basement as well as children who have not attended before. Before you return upstairs, be sure to indicate to the people at the door if you would prefer us to keep your young person till you return to get them or if it is alright to let them go after the adult worship is dismissed.
Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar. Be sure to specify the date desired. MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.
The Library is open after classes and the worship period. Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library. There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events. This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

Brenda Baas’ father, Sigurd Skare, Jr., (Butch) passed away last Tuesday. The funeral was Saturday. Please keep the family in your prayers.
Ken and Lindy Zinkgraf request our prayers for Lindy’s nephew Brandon. He is struggling with insecurity and trouble from alcohol.

Ron Koepke’s 9 month old great-niece, Olivia, had successful open-heart surgery April 13. Prayers are requested for her as she heals, and for her parents.
Vilma Bivens would like to thank the church for our prayers during this time of Bill’s passing. The funeral for Bill Bivens was April 15. He is survived by wife Vilma, children Ariana and Robert, brothers Robert, and Thomas, sisters Lori, and Ruby, as well as nieces and nephews.
Mary and Lou Brown’s brother-in-law’s brother has bone cancer.
