Evening worship is planned for 6:00 p.m. today with the subject Divine Conspiracy. No evening worship is planned next week.
The annual Southside Picnic is Sunday June 4 at area 2 along the Root River Parkway.
Club 55 is sponsoring a Bible and water hand-out for those passing by Saturday June 10. This is open for everyone to help. If you have a little used Bible in good condition, please consider donating it to this effort. Please sign up if you can help pass these out.
Vacation Bible School is planned for June 19, 20, and 21. Topics for each night: Compassion, Forgiveness and Grace. An adult class is also scheduled. Wednesday night after class we’ll share a meal. The area-wide Church Of Christ picnic is planned for Saturday August 12.
Club 55 members are invited to a picnic at the home of Cliff and Sandie Copass, Saturday, August 19.
Club 55 is sponsoring a “Trip to Albania” Saturday, September 23 through the eyes of a missionary family at Southside. Kevin and Allison Morrill, are hosting.
Club 55 is planning a “Christmas around the World” party on Saturday, December 2.
Sandie Copass is organizing a group outing to the Fireside Theatre for December 9. Cost is $67.95 per person and includes dinner. A sign-up sheet is to be posted outside the coat room for those who wish to attend. After signing up, please see Sandie to make your down payment.
A monthly womens’ study and fellowship meets the second Thursday of the month, 6:30 p.m. at the building. The current course is based on the book titled “Before Amen” by Max Lucado to help us with our prayer life.
The weekly 10 am Ladies’ Bible Class that meets on Thursdays at the building will meet this week May 25. Then there will be a break until after Labor Day in September.
A 6:00 a.m. Tuesday early morning Weekly Men’s Study is scheduled at the Church building.
A men’s study series is planned for the first Tuesday of each month at the building at 6:30 p.m. for a meal preceding the study. The June 6 meeting will be a meal, short devotional followed by the traditional Dart Ball Game. Then the class will break for summer and resume in September. Please see Dan Giombi for details.
Karen Van Handel is planning AED/CPR training at Southside through the American Heart Association for Sunday June 11 for 3½ hours in the afternoon. A pot-luck is being planned with training to start about 12:15 p.m. Cost is $40. Please sign up by June 4 if you are planning to be trained. Be sure to wear loose clothing you can get down to the floor in.
Help is needed with leading Children’s Worship. Several children ages 3 – 3rd grade are dismissed after communion to enjoy a child-friendly worship downstairs. The worship includes singing, prayer, lesson, and application via various games and simple crafts. Each worship is co-lead by a team of 2 adults. If you would like to help with this serving opportunity or learn more about it, please contact Kevin Morrill.
We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2. We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshiping.
Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar. Be sure to specify the date desired. MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.
A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time. Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 3 and to encourage families with children.
The Library is open after classes and the worship period. Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library. There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.
If you have wonderful news to share about a newly engaged couple or an expectant mother, etc., please let Brenda or Melissa Kosobucki know so they can plan a shower for them.
When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events. This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

Lindy Zinkgraf’s surgery resulted in complications. She returned to Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Christine Saunders eardrum ruptured and she is experiencing a hearing loss. She is having a tube surgically placed in her ear to help clear the passage. She asks for our prayers for the ear to heal and the hearing to return since she is deaf in her other ear.
The mother of Larry W. Wofford Sr. (Preacher at the South Beloit church of Christ) had a massive stroke. Prayers are requested that she pulls through.
Pam Plale, had surgery recently and all went well.
Zoe Alicea asks for prayers for a friend, Charles Rushing, a 67 year old Vietnam veteran, who has been dealing with cancer and was sent back to his home and will not be getting further treatments. She feels that he doesn’t have anyone praying for him and that he feels alone.

Cindy Valodine’s 99 year old grandmother passed away May 12. Prayers are requested for Cindy’s extended family.
