A study of the Book of Judges is scheduled to begin today. The study of Matthew is continuing.
The annual Southside Picnic is planned for today at picnic area 2 along the Root River Parkway. See “This week” for directions.

To get to the picnic: go west on Grange to Root River Parkway (a bit past Southridge) and turn left. Picnic area 2 will be on your right after a short drive. Bring: dish or dessert to share, meat to grill for your family and non-alcoholic beverages of your choice. Provided: Condiments, juice, plates, cups, dinnerware, tables and grills. You may wish to bring: games, lawn chairs, recreation items. The site has a field, playground and pavilion.
A monthly womens’ study and fellowship is planned for the second Thursday of the month, 6:30 p.m. at the building. The current course is titled “Before Amen” by Max Lucado to help us with our prayer life.
A men’s study series is planned for Tuesday at the building at 6:30 p.m. for a meal preceding the study. Please see Dan Giombi for details.
Club 55 is sponsoring a Bible and water hand-out for those passing by Saturday June 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. This is open to everyone. If you have a little used Bible in good condition, please consider donating it to this effort. Please sign up if you can help pass these out.
Karen Van Handel is planning AED/CPR training at Southside through the American Heart Association for Sunday June 11 for 3½ hours in the afternoon. A pot-luck is being planned with training to start about 12:15 p.m. Cost is $40. Please sign up today if you are planning to be trained. Be sure to wear loose clothing you can get down to the floor in.
Vacation Bible School is planned for June 19, 20, and 21. Topics for each night: Compassion, Forgiveness and Grace. An adult class is also scheduled. Wednesday night after class we’ll share a meal. Invite friends, family, and neighbors to come join us for VBS. If you would like to assist in any way or have questions see Kevin Morrill.

Club 55 is planning Picnic On The Farm for Monday July 4 (rain date July 8) at Scot and Shirley Cerka’s place in Burlington starting at 1:00 p.m. Their farm is in Burlington. Everyone is invited.
The area-wide Church Of Christ picnic is planned for Saturday August 12.

Club 55 is sponsoring a “Trip to Albania” Saturday, September 23 through the eyes of a missionary family at Southside. Kevin and Allison Morrill, are hosting.
Club 55 is planning a “Christmas around the World” party on Saturday, December 2.
Sandie Copass is organizing a group outing to the Fireside Theatre for December 9. Cost is $67.95 per person and includes dinner. A sign-up sheet is to be posted outside the coat room for those who wish to attend. After signing up, please see Sandie to make your down payment.
A 6:00 a.m. Tuesday early morning Weekly Men’s Study is scheduled at the Church building.
Congratulations to Tia Baas on earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2. We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshipping.
A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time. Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 3 and to encourage families with children.
The Library is open after classes and the worship period. Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library. There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

Dick Bosetti was admitted to St. Francis Hospital Tuesday with congestive heart failure. He is expected to be released at any time.
Gunter Bahn passed away May 5 and the funeral was held May 12 at Heritage Funeral Home on south Howell.
Juanita Hernandez has a pulmonary nodule in her right lung that appears to be stable.
Mary Brown asks prayers for her mother who has a compression fracture of her spine and is in a lot of pain. She is planning a procedure to fix it.
Andrea Maybin’s sister, Jocelyn McNeil had surgery recently. Please pray for her recovery.
Lorna requests our prayers for her husband, Jerry Seidner who has a blood clot in his leg and his left kidney has cancer.
Christine Saunders had tubes inserted in her ear to relieve pressure and hopefully restore hearing.

The mother of Larry W. Wofford Sr. (Preacher at the South Beloit church of Christ) had a massive stroke. Prayers are requested that she pulls through.

Zoe Alicea asks for prayers for a friend, Charles Rushing, a 67 year old Vietnam veteran, who has been dealing with cancer and was sent back to his home and will not be getting further treatments. She feels that he doesn’t have anyone praying for him and that he feels alone.

Cindy Valodine’s 99 year old grandmother passed away May 12. Prayers are requested for Cindy’s extended family.
