Praise and Palate is planned for 6:00 p.m. this evening.

Club 55 members are invited to a picnic at the home of Cliff and Sandie Copass, Saturday, August 19, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Please bring an individual box meal for each person.

The signup period for the Fireside dinner theater production of Miracle on 34th Street is ending soon.  If you wish to attend, please sign up outside the coatroom or see Sandie Copass.

Special Events

Bruce and Karen Williams are planning a chili dump at their home on Friday September 8 starting at 6 p.m.  Bring chili to share.  Crockpots and fixings are provided.

Club 55 is sponsoring a “Trip to Albania” Saturday, September 23 1:00 p.m., through the eyes of a missionary family at Southside.  Please wear red and black.  Kevin and Allison Morrill, are hosting.

The annual Midwest Preachers Retreat is planned for September 25-27 at WCYC with the theme “Redigging the Wells”.  Anyone is welcome to attend, (not just preachers).  The keynote speaker is Ken Curkowski, from Abilene Christian University, who plans to speak on “Corinth and Paul’s Theology” focusing on I Corinthians.

Regular Events

A 6:00 a.m. Tuesday early morning Weekly Men’s Study is scheduled at the Church building.


We are starting a gently used shoe drive for African needy next week.  There is a collection box in the foyer.  Funds for shipping are also needed.  See Jennifier Koepke for details.


It is time to update the attendance directory.  A markup copy has been posted near the office for your corrections.

We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium.

A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time.

Mid-week group meetings are planned in several locations:

Prayer Requests

Mary Anguiano and her daughter, Ladi, ask for prayers for their friend, Myra, who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.  She is a young mother of twins.

Doris Wihowski asks for our prayers for selling her brothers half of her house and whoever buys it will live with her, so her request is that she would be able to find a good and compatible roommate, preferably a Christian.

Kathy’s dad in in the twilight day of his life and Kathy will be staying with her parents until after her dad’s passing.  Please keep the family in your prayers.

Marco Alicea is now scheduled for a hip replacement August 15.

Holly Huellemeir, is going back to Ohio State to resume her classes.  She says, “Thank you for all you’ve done.”

Patti Schultz asks for our continued prayers for her lungs, for her husband to come to church and for her daughter’s health.  She also asks for prayers for her, that she will follow Jesus always.

Juanita Hernandez reminds us to pray for our country.  She also feels so thankful for all the prayers answered.

Vilma Bivens asks prayers for knee surgery planned for August 21.

Juan Santana would like our prayers for his father, whose home in Puerto Rico was broken into.

Maria Guerra asks for our prayers for her daughter, Ruby Esqueda, who had a cervical fusion.

Alex Crivello says: “Thanks everybody for your prayers for my well-being.  You guys are the greatest!”

Vicky McCormick is recovering from her kidney transplant.  She was back in St. Luke’s Medical Center due to complications, but may be home now.  Cards and calls (414-339-6069) are welcome.

Doris Wihowski is looking for a full-time job with live-able pay. Please ask the Father to bless her search.

Jim Nichols requests our prayers for his brother Dan.  Dan’s son Josh passed away in September and his birthday would have been July 24.

Sandra Ferry requests prayers for 12 year old Quinn Lisak who has leukemia.

Troy Jensen’s father Jim has ongoing health issues and lung cancer.

Eric Jones asks prayers for his sister who is going through a lot of personal problems.

Andrea Maybin asks us to pray for co-worker, Steven H., who has been bullying her at work.  She also asks for prayers for her family.

Elizabeth Dickson asks us to pray for her as she struggles with uncertainty in which way to turn and as she tries to remember to always put God first.

Karen Van Handel asks us to pray that the spiritual lessons learned at WCYC give much growth.

Linda Mc Gowan requests prayers through the Southside website.

Julie Shuster asks prayers for her brother, Bill, who battles with an ongoing chemical addiction.  Pray that he may find faith in God through Jesus.
