Evening worship is planned for 6:00 p.m. today.

Club 55 is planning a “Christmas around the World” party on Saturday, December 2, starting at 1:00 p.m. at the building.  Please see Linda Stanger or Sandie Copass for details.

Special Events

Jan and April Alexander are planning a kids movie day/parents shopping day for Saturday December 9 from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. at the building.  We will have snacks, craft projects, holiday movies and lots of fun for the kids!  If you can help with the kids, please see Jan or April.  If you have kids to drop off during this time, please sign up.

Sandie Copass is organizing a group outing to the Fireside Theatre for December 9.  Cost is $67.95 per person and includes dinner.  Please see Sandie to make your final payment.

The annual Sweetheart Dinner is planned for Saturday February 10.

The annual WCYC Silent Auction is planned for Saturday February 17.

Family Bible Day is planned for Saturday March 10.

The annual Men’s Breakfast is planned for Saturday March 17.

Youth Announcements

Northtown Church of Christ is planning a Sunday Night Live event for Sunday Jan. 21.

Southside is planning our Youth Rally for Saturday February 24.

Library Book Review

Hallelujah!  Christ the Savior is born!  Merry Christmas from Your Library!  Check out 2 books during December and receive an ornament.

Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season.  Would you like learn more about him?  Be more like him?  We have helpful books in the Jesus Christ section of the library.  In “Heaven Came Down” by Lynn Anderson, we learn by Jesus’ example how to treat one another and how to be more like Jesus in our heart.  “The Jesus I Never Knew”, by Philip Yancey, offers a new and different perspective on the life of Christ and his work, who he was and why he came, a Jesus who wants to radically transform your life and stretch your faith.  Come in today to explore these and more books about Jesus.

Regular Events

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m.

Juan Santana is offering a stretching and strength training class every Monday at 6:00 p.m. for about an hour.  You will need comfortable clothes and a mat.

The weekly Ladies’ Bible Class meets on Thursdays at the building starting at 10:00 a.m. looking at the book of Isaiah.

A 6:00 a.m. Tuesday early morning Weekly Men’s Study is scheduled at the Church building.  The book of Isaiah is being started.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is planned for the first Tuesday of each month at the building at 6:30 p.m. for a meal preceding the study.  Please see Dan Giombi for details.

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:00 a.m.


An organization in the greater Milwaukee is collecting feminine hygiene products for women in area homeless shelters.  A donation box is in the foyer.

Jim Nichols brother Dan is looking for a place to stay that is shared with another person.

Lindy Zinkgraf has graciously stepped up to coordinate the Caring Ministry.  She will be needing help from many others.

Volunteers to help count the contribution after morning service are needed.  Please contact Louie Hill ( if you are interested.

If you would like to help the people in Houston or Florida, you can donate to the Church Of Christ Relief fund


We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones while worshipping.

A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time.

Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

The Library is open after classes and the worship period.  Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library.  There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

Southside has an email list that is used to send congregational news to those subscribed.  Please join us by emailing
from the email account you wish to receive at and stay up to date with everything happening at Southside.

Next week, we are planning to collect nonperishable food items for the First Sunday First Fruits program.  The food will be shared with those in need.  Please see Danny Giombi or Jeff Hill for details.

Married couples: The family here likes to recognize your wedding anniversary.  If we don’t already have that on record could you please fill in the month and year of your wedding anniversary so we may recognize you.  There is a place to do that on the bulletin board by the kitchen.  Thanks!

Mike Meyer’s neighbor Liz wishes to sell a 2001 Ford Tauris (v6) station wagon, 150,000 miles with a little rust.  Mike has checked the car mechanically and found it to be sound.  Asking price is $1200.  Please contact Mike if you are interested.

Prayer Requests

Jettie Carr thanks everyone who has graciously helped her thru the last eight weeks.

Julie Shuster offers thanksgiving that her brother, Bill, has completed rehab.  Please lift him in prayer as he takes the next steps to re-entering society – moving into a sober house and finding work.

Juanita Hernandez says, “Thanks to you all for your prayers for unity in my family and Christ Jesus. God has answered my prayers!! God bless all.”

Elizabeth Dickson asks for prayers for her brother, Brian, and his family with the passing of his father-in-law, Bob.

Toni Bully asks for prayers for her job search, to be able to get a cross-over car, and for her family to know Jesus and be saved.

Patti Schultz asks for our continued prayers that her husband would be led by Father God to come to church.

Amber Lepien requests our continued prayers for her daughter, Jillian to walk with Christ and for her other two daughters, Bree and Nicky to be touched by truth.

Barb Dawson is planning two procedures.  Ablation on her heart for rhythm problems December 13, and January 15 for carpel tunnel surgery.  Her past shoulder surgery has healed nicely and she is thankful for all the prayers.

Josh Stafford is struggling as he deals with stressful situations in his job and schooling.  He asks for our prayers as he goes through them.

Alex Crivello says he is going through issues at his group home with a fellow client.  Prayers are needed for both of them.

Dennis and Marlene Saunders request prayers for Marlene’s brother-in-law.  He fell and is not expected to live.

Christine Saunders was hospitalized recently due to infection. She is doing much better now.

Roger Young had a sleep test done and he is also experiencing a lot of back pain.  Patty is having problems with her eyes and can’t see well enough to drive at night.

Juan’s words: “Feeling a little lonely? In your loneliness hang on to the song that says, ‘Bind Us Together, Lord’ ”

Please remember those who have lost loved ones recently, especially Diana Kutcheid, Julia Hawley, and Vilma Bivens.  Others have lost parents, siblings or other loved ones this year too.

Patti Schultz’s Aunt Nancy passed away recently.

Karen Van Handel is thankful for the prayers for her sister’s knee replacement surgery.  She is home and recovering.

Shirley and Scot Cerka’s grandson, Jacen, was hospitalized for a few days.

Sarah Arnott requests prayers for her mother, Shirley Arnott.

Please remember to pray for those who struggle with addictions.

Allie Sturomski is home in Oshkosh recovering from a near death experience caused by a mix up with her medication. She is now undergoing some physical therapy to help her regain her strength.

Mary Anguiano asked for prayers for her back.  She is in a lot of pain and she would like prayers for it to get better.  She also requests prayers for her son, Tony Anguiano, that his eye will heal.  It has blood vessels that keep breaking.

Elfreide Wandsnider and Jerry Kutcheid passed away recently.

Jim Nichols says his brother Dan continues to struggle deeply.  He also asks for prayers for his brother, Tim.

Dennis and Marlene Saunders ask for prayers for Ryan Wilson who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Others with health issues include: Shirley Arnott, and Diane Santana.
