This week

We have an attended nursery for small children during morning worship periods in room 2.  We also have a training room at the rear of the auditorium where parents can stay with their little ones.

No evening service is planned today.

The First Tuesday Men’s Fellowship and Study Group is planned for Tuesday at the building at 6:30 p.m. for a meal preceding the study.  Please see Dan Giombi for details.

Next week, we are planning to collect nonperishable food items for the First Sunday First Fruits program.  The food will be shared with those in need.  Please see Danny Giombi or Jeff Hill for details.

Special Events

Lindy Zinkgraf is planning a meeting of the caring ministry helpers for Sunday January 14 after the morning service.  A light lunch is planned.

The ladies are planning an activity for “Tangling” art at the building on Saturday January 20 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.  Please bring a snack to share, a friend or two, and YOU!  Please sign up at the Ladies Bulletin board.  See Jan Alexander or Allison Morrill for details.

Northtown is planning Sunday Night Live for the youth on Sunday January 21.

The annual Sweetheart Dinner is planned for Saturday February 10.

The annual WCYC Silent Auction is planned for Saturday February 17.  We are raising money to restore the Pines cabin.

Southside is planning a Youth Rally for Saturday February 24.

Family Bible Day is planned for Saturday March 10.

The annual Men’s Breakfast is planned for Saturday March 17.

The annual Men’s Retreat is planned for April 20-21 at Camp Minikani.

Regular Events

A time of prayer is planned for the second Tuesday of each month at the building, 7:00 p.m.

Juan Santana is offering a stretching and strength training class every Monday at 6:00 p.m. for about an hour.  You will need comfortable clothes and a mat.

The weekly Ladies’ Bible Class meets on Thursdays at the building starting at 10:00 a.m. looking at the book of Isaiah.

A 6:00 a.m. Tuesday early morning Weekly Men’s Study is scheduled at the Church building.  The book of Isaiah is being started.

The Christian Workers’ Meeting is planned for the third Tuesday of each month, 9:00 a.m.

Opportunities

An organization in the greater Milwaukee is collecting feminine hygiene products for women in area homeless shelters.

Jim Nichols brother Dan is looking for a place to stay that is shared with another person.

We are in need of teachers to fill the Sunday school nursery class.  Class time is 9:00am to 9:45 am.  Please contact Ken Koch if you can help.

Please contact Shirley Cerka if you are able to help in the children’s nursery during the worship time.

The children’s ministry is in need of teachers, assistants and subs.  A strong and well supported Children’s ministry is vital to the health of any church, so please consider helping.  No previous experience is necessary.  If interested, talk to Kevin Morrill or Ken Koch.

Help is needed with leading Children’s Worship.  Several children ages 3 – 3rd grade are dismissed after communion to enjoy a child-friendly worship downstairs.  The worship includes singing, prayer, lesson, and application via various games and simple crafts.  Each worship is co-lead by a team of 2 adults.  If you would like to help with this serving opportunity or learn more about it, please contact Kevin Morrill.

Southside is in need of a historian.

Volunteer drivers are needed for the non-profit “Muskego Senior Taxi Service” during the week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Please call 262-679-4754 if you are interested.

The 2018 Southside budget has been completed and a copy is posted on the bulletin board just outside the church office.  If you have any questions, please see Brad Stanger.

The Library is open after classes and the worship period.  Don’t forget to return any overdue books to the library.  There is a book return box located in the entry way next to the picture board.

If you have wonderful news to share about a newly engaged couple or an expectant mother, etc., please let Brenda Kosobucki know so they can plan a shower for them.

When planning events, don’t forget to check the calendar in the back hallway by room 9 for conflicts and enter your own events.  This is for events that involve use of the building and/or for a majority of the congregation.

Dear members and visitors alike, this is a friendly reminder to please fill out the blue connection card for a record of your attendance.  Also, if you have an urgent prayer request please give your card directly to one of our elders, instead of having it picked up in the aisle.  Thank you so much.

Married couples: The family here likes to recognize your wedding anniversary.  If we don’t already have that on record could you please fill in the month and year of your wedding anniversary so we may recognize you.  There is a place to do that on the bulletin board by the kitchen.  Thanks!

A children’s worship is scheduled to begin near the start of the worship lesson time.  Children’s Worship is intended to provide a time of worship for children age 3 thru Grade 3 and to encourage families with children.  Everyone is asked to begin worship in the auditorium (adults and children).  Parents should accompany their smaller children to the basement as well as children who have not attended before.

Free CD’s of the Sunday morning sermons are available from Joel Ribar.  Be sure to specify the date desired.  MP3 copies of sermons are also available at the church web site.

Mike Meyer has connections with used car lots and experience repairing cars.  If you are in need of either, Mike may be able to help.  Also, Lynn is looking for paid help to do house cleaning.

Library Book Review

If you like to read true stories about other people and how they coped in their life, visit one of the Biography sections in the library.  The Bible Biography section has books about real people in the Bible, like Elijah & Paul.  The other Biography section has books about people who lived after Bible times to the present.  Two of these books include a book about Tony Dungy, Quiet Strength:  The Principles, Practices & Priorities of a Winning Life and Walking with Lincoln – Spiritual Strength from America’s Favorite President.  Stop in after worship.

Prayer Requests

John Anderson has COPD and is being treated for bronchitis.  The cold weather makes it hard for him to breathe or get out.

Tom and Kia Mutranowski say, “We love you guys, thank you for your continued faithfulness.”

Patti Schultz asks that we continue to pray to God about her husband to come to church with her.

Andrea and Rodney Maybin ask that we pray for safe travels for Aaron Maybin as he relocates back home to Wisconsin for career advancement.

Pray for a quick recovery for Elizabeth Dickson’s cold.

Sarah Arnott asks for prayers for Shirley Arnott and some upcoming tests.

Juanita Hernandez says “The grace of God be in your heart is my prayer for our church, in Jesus name”.

Juan Santana says, “I talk to the Lord every day, but it’s not always with nice words – so I have to remind myself that at the end of the day, He is still in control.”

Allie Elias (Sturomski) was in the hospital in Oshkosh due to chest pain and is being tested.

April Alexander is recovering from surgery on her hip.

Mark Van Handel’s brother’s wife, Florene, suffered a major stroke and is in ICU.  Please pray for her and for Mark’s brother.

Toni Bully asks that we would pray that her mother would accept her as her daughter.

Stephen and Jacqueline Eyler have prayers of praise – Stephen accepted a job in Peoria, IL following his residency.  They plan to move in June.

Julie Shuster requests prayers for all the men in our lives.

Barb Dawson was planning two procedures.  Ablation on her heart for rhythm problems December 13, and January 15 for carpel tunnel surgery.  She is thankful for all the prayers.

Patty Young‘s cataract surgery was postponed.

Arneetrice Ellerman prays, “That I am able to continuously submit to the will of the Lord and not my own.  May God always help me remain humble.”

Jeff Valodine asks for prayers for his health, moving into the new year.

Elizabeth Dickson asks us to pray for her sister, Barbara and her husband, who have decided to separate.

Katie Morawski asks for prayers for Ron Morawski (father) who has infection in his leg, dementia, cirrhosis of the liver and was in the hospital recently.

Julie Shuster’s brother Bill, who was in rehab. for alcohol abuse, has a job now.  He is thankful for the bible Julie gave him and says he will read it.  She asks for continued prayers for his spiritual growth.

Pat’s Steevens father is in hospice care.  Pat asks for prayers for comfort and peace for her father and for her family.

Darrell and Elaine Woodard ask prayers for travelling grace for Elaine as she goes to Jamaica to visit her ailing mother, Mrs. Algirta White.  Prayers for her mother also.

Zoe Alicea asks our prayers for her co-workers child who is on life support after being in an accident last Tuesday.

Mike Meyer asks for prayer that his sister, Lori, and brother in-law, Wilfred, can resolve their differences and not get a divorce.

Karen Van Handel requests prayers for, “Guidance & help with Mark’s pain management.”

Juanita Hernandez would appreciate continued prayers for her health issues.  She is thankful for answered prayers in Jesus name.

Dorothy Henry would like us to pray for her sister’s family – the Porter family.  God knows what is on her heart.

We rejoice with our brother in Christ, Chris Miller, who was baptized on Nov. 19!  Pray for his spiritual walk and growth.
